This Library is the main branch building of a system of libraries located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was design by the architect Moshe Safdie and constructed in 2003. A very interesting thing is that the whole library depends on natural lighting, reducing the need of lights in the library. A huge five story glass wall is where most of the light comes from. In this text we will describe how his vertical and horizontal circulation is.

This building counts with a very good horizontal circulation. In the outside some oblique paths connect the city with the library in a dynamic way. Some bridges over the paths create some transversal circulation. On the inside the circulation it’s based on longs corridors that connect all the parts of the library.

The vertical circulation it’s indispensable because it has different levels, this way everybody can access to all the spaces of the library. A ramp was necessary for the access of the people and the ones with special conditions. There are also others types of vertical circulation; it has three crystal elevators and a spiral grand staircase.
